There are only a few examples of true straight seismic lines in the world in residential areas. Even curved or irregular line spacing is often required in the topography and water network areas of sparsely populated settlements. Working along roads with non-explosive sources provides a classic example of a general problem. Many people are aware of all aspects of the problem, often considering the degradation of the signal quality at the final stacking profile. However, they are usually invisible and overlooked. The effects of line deviations on speed and residual statics analysis have not been fully understood yet, but they are often more important than the quality of simple signals.
