投影机一直被认作是小众产品,市场规模并不大,预计2007年中国投影机销售量将达50万台,占全球投影机市场份额的8%左右,要打破市场规模的瓶颈,势必需拓展细分市场,更要将市场深挖、做透。目前中国投影机市场大致可分为四部分,商用、教育、大众娱乐、家用娱乐。国务院发展研究中心市场经济研究所家电专家、中国电子商会副秘书长陆刃波指出:考虑到中国家庭消费市场巨大的潜在需求量,家庭娱乐市场将是中国投影机市场未来重点发展的方向。但现阶段消费者接受程度低、产品价格偏高等因素尚待解决,投影机作为新兴的家电进入家庭还有很艰难的一段路要走。特别是制造企业对中国家庭投影机市场特征,消费者购买习惯了解程度颇低,为市场的开掘更增难度。
