In 2007, there were 18 sets of English exams for college entrance examinations throughout the country. The written questions were basically controlled writing or scenario writing. They require candidates to write a written material of about 100 words in English according to the given situation; provide scenarios with text, drawings, diagrams, or essays; scenarios include purpose, object, time, place, content, etc.; genres are mostly narratives. Description papers, application texts, or folder discussion papers; the proposition forms cover the outlines, charts, diagrams and open-ended four categories.
