地处黄河中游的永济市,古往今来,柿树遍存,其栽植历史距今已有1500多年。元、明、清时代,柿树的发展在这个县为鼎盛时期。据《蒲州府志》、《永济市志》记载:“柿为蒲人利。如古所谓木奴者矣。其植多者千树,少犹数百株。”元代著名的剧作家王实甫在他的传世名篇《西厢记》中,对蒲州的深秋柿景就有生动的描写。张生和崔莺莺讲的“晓来谁染霜林醉”,“难传红叶诗”,诗意指的就是柿景。《永济市志.艺文诗卷》中辑录的元、明、清时代的诗作数十篇,无不与柿相关。清周景柱在他作的《蒲州柿林红叶》一诗中这样写到:“尽把珊瑚映夕曛,瑶仙齐看石榴裙;无边红树多情思,遮断青山锁白云。”

There are dozens of poems in the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties recorded in Yongji City Zhiyi. Qing Zhou Jingzhu in his “Pozhou persimmon leaves” a poem wrote: “to make the coral Ying Xi Wan, Yao Xian Qi see the grapes skirt; boundless mangrove passionate thinking, cut off Castle Peak white clouds.”
