由中南工大学机器人研究中心研制成功的第一台用于冶金生产中恶劣作业条件下的CS—1双臂工业机器人,是为湖南水口山矿务局铍金属冶炼厂铍铜合金生产中搅拌和除渣操作研制的。它有两支手臂,左手用于对温度高达1800~1900℃的铍铜合金熔体进行各种方式的搅拌,使其中的碳化铍渣不断析出和浮到熔体表面;右手则以适当的姿态运动,用工具将粉块状的碳化铍渣捞出。两支手都能根据需要从两个工具架上抓取不同的工具轮换操作,自动完成生产工艺规定的一整套动作。它在生产中上岗操作后,将取代铍铜合金生产中繁重
