OBJECTIVE: To summarize the clinical implementation of early enteral nutrition after gastrointestinal surgery, to explore the effect of the two methods on postoperative gastrointestinal surgery, to provide basis for the patients to recover their intestinal function and reduce the intestinal infection after gastrointestinal surgery . Methods: Twenty patients with gastrointestinal tract were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. Nutritional indexes, patient tolerance and recovery of intestinal function were compared. The treatment group was 10 cases and the control group 10 cases. All patients underwent gastrointestinal surgery. Gastroscopy and naso-intestinal tubes were performed. The two groups of patients were comparable in terms of sex, age, body weight, type of disease and operation size. The treatment group was given enteral nutrition within 18-24 hours after operation, while the control group was given enteral nutrition only after the anal exhaust was recovered from the operation patients. The nutritional liquid was all capable of being produced in the Netherlands. There was no difference in nutrient solution temperature and infusion rate. Results: After 8 days of treatment, the nutritional indexes of patients in the treatment group were significantly improved, the weight loss was less, the anus recovery exhaust time was earlier, while the nutritional index of the control group did not significantly increase after the operation, the difference was significant. Conclusion: The early enteral nutrition after gastrointestinal surgery can significantly improve the nutritional status of patients, meanwhile, it has the advantages of being physiologically, safely, conveniently and with fewer complications.
