云南省红河县城位于北西走向的红河断裂带之中。近百年中,这里没有发生过强震。红河断裂的活动与强震的缺乏是我们研究这里古地震的基本出发点。县城附近的第四纪地层中,发现了一些古地震遗迹。城西安帮村剖面上显示出两个古地震事件,每个事件的断层面均为高倾角,倾向滑距分别为32和28厘米。这两个事件相隔仅一百余年。这一资料揭示红河断裂在第四纪中有过强烈的地震活动历史。本文的分析方法对研究其它地区的古地震应是有用的。
Honghe County, Yunnan Province, is located in the northwestern Red River fault zone. Nearly a century, there has not been a strong earthquake here. The activities of the Red River fault and the lack of strong earthquakes are the basic starting points for our study of the ancient earthquakes here. Quaternary strata near the county found some ancient earthquakes. Two ancient seismic events have been shown on the section of Xian’an Bangcun section. The fault plane of each event is high dip angle, with the tendency of slippage being 32 and 28 centimeters, respectively. These two events are separated by only one hundred years. This data reveals that the Red River fault had a strong history of seismic activity in the Quaternary. The analytical method in this paper should be useful for studying paleo-earthquakes in other areas.
