嘉兴县荷花公社民主大队种植蚕豆已有悠久的历史,广大社员对培育蚕豆积累了丰富的经验。解放后在党的英明领导下,尤其在1958年大跃进以后,获得了连年大面积丰产。今年全大队217亩蚕豆,平均亩产204斤,比1960年单位面积产量增加38.7%,其中产量最高的第一生产队22亩,亩产242斤。社员们认为种蚕豆既省工,又省肥,产量高,收入多,并可调剂劳力,加强其他春花作物的培育,又能改良土壤,
The Jiaxing County Lotus Commune Democratic Faction has planted broad beans and has a long history. The majority of members have accumulated rich experience in fostering broad beans. After the liberation, under the wise leadership of the party, especially after the Great Leap Forward in 1958, it gained huge area of fruitful yields in successive years.
