“Ah, you are a professor and you have to learn a lot from your students.” “I’ve heard the phrase in all its forms and it always makes me feel embarrassed. Do people think lawyers learn a lot about the law from their clients? And what is the doctor know about medicine, and what is the patient’s teaching? However, the implication of this sentence is that ”our students are us Teacher “is an important truth. In fact, we really need to learn from them, but not about the history of the Roman Empire or the ”lost paradise." Understanding what a student must teach a teacher can help us cope with one of the toughest problems facing colleges and universities today: distance education. This problem not only bothers us at my university in Virginia, it has nearly collapsed the university.
