“赋”是中国文学宝库中的精品,然而,它在英语世界的传播非常有限。在跨越时空和语言的重重障碍之后,赋在英语世界呈现出新的特点:文体特征缺失,优美音韵磨蚀,意象繁复难懂。这些新的特征引起了“美的丧失”“译犹不译”的争议,影响了赋体文学走向世界的进程。对于中国赋体文学的翻译,我们应有合理现实的态度:中国赋体文学在英语世界的新特征,正是译者在进退维谷间,斡旋协调的产物。赋体文学进入英语世界后,必然是一个不同于原文的、具有自身特点和独立价值的新的艺术品。 “Fu ” is a treasure of Chinese literature, however, its spread in the English-speaking world is very limited.
