This article describes how to determine the color gamut boundaries of LCD displays. The ultimate goal of determining LCD gamut and gamut boundaries is to achieve soft proofing of the screen, “WYSIWYG” effects on the computer screen, and ultimately realism of the proofs on output devices such as color printers reduction. The significance of determining the color gamut boundary of the LCD display is that we can precisely simulate the color gamut of another device from the color gamut of one device so that color consistency across the entire computer system can be achieved. In addition, After the gamut boundary between the LCD display and the color printer, we can calculate the difference in gamut performance parameters between devices by using some mathematical algorithms, and analyze the overall ability of the LCD display to simulate the output color of other devices.
