Translation can be divided into understanding, expression, choice of three links. Understanding includes both understanding of the original and understanding of the specific context of translation. The understanding of the original should be close to, or even exceeded the author’s level. On the basis of understanding, the author of the expression clearly states that he wishes to express what he even needs to express and, depending on the needs of the translation scenario, decides to express the meaning of the original in the same, similar or completely different form as the original. This article uses concrete examples to illustrate how translators meet the above three requirements through critical thinking and put forward that translation teaching should focus on cultivating critical thinking ability.
