团结和谐、爱国奉献、开放包容、创新争先——这16个字不仅是对广西精神的精确概括,也是广西各族人民的自觉追求。2013年,广西南宁被确定为第一批创建全国民族团结进步示范市(地、州、盟)。以此为切入点,广西各级党委、政府更加注重建立健全民族团结进步争先创优活动长效机制,动员各地区各部门、各行各业争创民族团结进步模范城市、模范县(区)、模范乡(镇)、模范村(街道、居委会)、模范行业、模范单位和模范个人,形成了学习先进、争当先进、赶超先进的社会氛围。
