1937年年底,各方面都在蓬勃发展的延安发生了一件很轰动的事情,大家纷纷传递着一个喜讯:一个大科学家来到了延安,是留德的博士,这个人就是陈康白。毛主席、朱总司令知道后亲自接见了陈康白,欢迎这位大科学家来到延安参加人民的解放事业,并希望他为陕甘宁边区多做贡献。这个大科学家就是自然科学院的缔造者之一、自然科学院的第三任院长陈康白。自然科学院是北京理工大学的前身,而北京理工大学被誉为中国共产党亲手创建的第一所理工科大学,这段光荣而又神秘的历史和老院长陈康白有着紧密的联系。
At the end of 1937, a very sensational event took place in Yan’an, a flourishing city, in all aspects. Everyone passed the good news: a big scientist came to Yenan and was a doctor in Germany who was Chen Kangbai. Chairman Mao and Premier Zhu personally met with Chen Kangbai and welcomed the great scientist to Yenan to participate in the people’s liberation cause and hoped that he would make more contributions to the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region. The big scientist is one of the founders of the Academy of Natural Sciences, Chen Kangbai, the third dean of the Academy of Natural Sciences. The Academy of Science is the predecessor of Beijing Institute of Technology, and Beijing Institute of Technology is hailed as the first science and engineering university personally created by the Chinese Communist Party. This glorious and mysterious history is closely linked with Chen Kangbai, the dean of the old school.
