曹雪芹不仅是一位天才作家,而且还是一位伟大的文艺理论家。他通过《红楼梦》中的人物之口道出了小说创作应遵循的几条重要原则,概括起来有六点:提倡写真实,反对胡编滥造;小说要以艺术本身为目的;主张用白话;小说艺术以提高人的精神为主要目的;人物应是作者所追求和崇拜的偶像;结构要推陈出新。
Cao Xueqin is not only a talented writer, but also a great literary theorist. Through the characters in “Dream of Red Mansions”, he expounds several important principles that should be followed in the creation of novels.
