At about 8:00 am on March 10, 1959, the streets of Lhasa in Tibet were in turmoil, and people cried out running in tears: “Go to Norbulingka to protect the precious (Dalai Lama)! Han should take him away . ”This shout is a bluster to the Tibetan people who believe in Buddhism. As a result, people were flocking to Norbulingka with a sense of shock, apprehension and terror to enclose Norbulingka in the name of protecting the Dalai Lama and opened the curtain of armed rebellion. This was the 1959 “March 10 Incident” which soon became a massive and comprehensive armed rebellion. - Ngapoi Ngawang Jimei “The Rebellion in Tibet in 1959”
