选育热带型荷花的母本是泰国优良切花品种‘粉红凌霄’。莲子系泰国友人赠送,我们在武汉住宅平台上从盆栽播种苗中经5年扩繁,从45盆单株中初选出新1号、新2号,再经与母本对比,认为新株的某些性状异于母本,始定为新品种‘红凌霄’和‘泰情’。并认为母本和二新品种适合黄河以南地区露地栽培,对湿地修复、美化水景、丰富人们文化生活、佳卉迎国庆,均有着广阔的应用前景。
