Turbine 25 alloy is a nickel-based superalloy. This alloy was developed specifically for investment casting automotive turbochargers. The main characteristics of this alloy is low alloy cost, good casting performance, good physical and mechanical properties. The emerging and expanding use of turbochargers for other trucks, road vehicles, excavators, agricultural tractors and light aircraft will also benefit from the effectiveness of this new alloy. The use of this new alloy for aircraft and ground turbine rotors is being evaluated. This article summarizes the most up-to-date information on the physical properties of this alloy, including the high cycle fatigue of this material, thermal expansion and tensile data under industrial casting conditions. In addition, the development of this new alloy will examine its main mechanical properties, structural properties and corrosion resistance.
