颏位于下唇下方,俗称下巴,是影响脸型(尤其面下1/3)的重要结构。颏的形态是由下颔骨前正中骨凸的发育状况所决定的,如发育不良,下巴则向后退缩呈斜坡状,形成后退颏或无颏畸形,严重的呈鸟嘴畸形,脸型特别难看。周孝麟教授认为,现代先进的美容外科技术是社会进步、医学科学发展的成果,其中隆颏术是矫正颏后退畸形唯一有效的良方,其美容效果十分神奇。
