夏播小麦是在改革栽培方式中发展起来的,它适合于山区、丘陵、高海拔地区的旱地种植。全省不同地区的生产条件变化,在较大程度上是气象条件所不同造成的。所以要在全省发展夏播小麦,首先要摸清气象条件的变化幅度和夏播小麦的适应性。一、夏播和春播气象条件对比平遥县用于夏播的小麦品种是以忻春矮 2号为主,该品种在忻县春播生长期为100天左右,即3月中旬播种,4月初出苗,7月初收获。平遥县夏播是7月中旬播种,9月底成熟,生长期80—90天。从两地气象资料看,播种阶段夏播比春播气温高20.4℃,全生育期积温忻县为1774℃,平遥为1716℃,两地的花期温度和生育期积温都非常相近,但夏播比春播生育期缩短10天左右。由于两地小麦生育季节和生育日数均不相同,夏播回避了干热风、高温逼熟和气候干旱等不利因素。生育由旱季改为雨季,需水问题基本得到解决,这是夏播小麦的增产
