大宁河古名昌江,又名巫溪水。发源于川东大巴山南麓陕西省平利县的中南山。巫山县地处长江峡区,大巴山脉与巫山山脉在巫山县北都交会。长江自西向东横贯全境,大宁河自北向南穿崇山、纳小溪从海拔3000多米高山上跳跃而下直奔长江,是长江三峡段最大的支流。大宁河沿途山峦起伏,掏壑纵横。有多姿多彩的峻岭奇石,变幻无穷的急流险滩,清幽秀洁的清泉飞瀑,色彩斑斓的三峡石,苍翠欲滴的竹木林,神秘莫测的悬崖古洞,迷存千古的悬棺……其中最负盛名的三个景区是滴翠峡、龙门峡、巴雾峡,人称小三峡。

There are colorful mountains Kistler, the ever-changing rapids Beach, Qingxiu clean spring waterfalls, colorful Three Gorges stone, green bamboo forest, the mysterious cliff Kwu Tung, the eternal coffin ... One of the most prestigious three scenic spots is Dicui Gorge, Longmen Gorge, Baifu Gorge, known as the Little Three Gorges.
