1. SCOPE 1.1. This recommended practice includes the application of eddy current inspection to detect defects in steel pipes with uniform cross section and composition. 1.2. The recommended operating characteristics apply to eddy current testing using test coil sets where a constant, saturated magnetic field is applied to the test area to render the steel tubing substantially non-magnetic.
