In his important speech at the symposium on literary and art work, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that it is necessary to attach great importance to and effectively strengthen the work on literary and art criticism and create a good atmosphere for carrying out literary and art criticism. We must accurately grasp the new situation, new problems and new demands confronting the literary criticism, put the literary criticism on a prominent position and further grasp the commentary. According to the spirit of the speech, the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture commissioned me to publish a column entitled “Youth Review”. The purpose of this section is to provide a broader platform for young critics to display and exchange ideas, to promote the emergence of young commenters, and to cultivate and create a contingent of high-quality young literary critics who adapt to the development of literature and art.
