The development and classification of Liquid Chromatrography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS / MS) and its applications in drug metabolism, chemical constituents of Chinese herbal medicines, fingerprints of Chinese herbal medicines, and quantification and characterization of Chinese herbal medicines were summarized.
