王遹出生于山东。她的祖父王丕煦曾参与“公车上书”运动,辛亥革命后,是民国元年的首任山东布政使。据亲属回忆,她父亲王谷辰是清华学堂学生,与原中国民主同盟副主席罗隆基、大学者汤用彤是同届校友。1919年,因积极投身“五四”运动,被迫中断学业,从此潜心致力“实业救国”。20
Wang 遹 was born in Shandong. Her grandfather Wang Pi Xu had participated in the “bus letter” movement, after the Revolution of 1911, the first Chief Minister of Shandong in the first year of the Republic of China. According to relatives, her father, Wang Gu-chen, a student of Tsinghua School, was the same alumni as Luo Longji, former vice chairman of China Democratic League, and Tong Yong, a university student. In 1919, he was forced to interrupt his studies because of his active involvement in the May 4th Movement and devoted himself to “saving the country by industry.” 20
