湘薯13号(原编号82～42-2)是我院农学系万之秀副教授采用杂交育种法育成的一个高产、优质红薯新品种,其母本是湘薯11号,父本是徐薯18.1982年进行有性杂交,1987～1939年参加省区试,1990年进行生产试验,1991年3月通过湖南省农作物品种审定委员会审定并命名。该品种顶叶浅绿带褐边,叶脉紫色,茎绿带紫,叶心脏形,较大;蔓长190 cm左右,分枝5～7个;单株结薯2～3个,薯块纺锤形,皮红色,薯肉黄白有紫晕。萌芽性较好,苗期 Xiangshu No. 13 (formerly No. 82 ~ 42-2) is a high yielding and high-quality new sweet potato variety bred by Associate Professor Wan Zhixiu in our department.
