Field experiments with peas in dry farming areas in southern Ningxia showed that the water consumption of pea increased by 96.5% -1 11.9%, the yield by 8.42% -90.2% and the water use efficiency by 4 .55 ~ 8.63 kg / mm · hm2. The treatment effect of narrow ridge type was better than wide ridge type. Catchment cultivation technology is an effective planting method to improve precipitation utilization in semi-arid areas
