组胺的广泛存在,而产生它可能与健康和疾病相关的猜测。这种生物胺与炎症、过敏反应以及胃酸分泌有关。其中多数研究是关于肥大细胞组胺。有研究认为,组胺可在其它细胞中合成,但对其作用所知甚少。例如,组胺参与某些类型细胞的增殖;像胚胎的发育、伤口的愈合和实验肿瘤的生长等。也有报道指出,在增殖组织或动物肿瘤组织内组胺含量增高。
The widespread presence of histamine results in speculation that it may be linked to health and disease. This biogenic amine is associated with inflammation, allergic reactions, and gastric acid secretion. Most of the research is about mast cell histamine. Some studies suggest that histamine can be synthesized in other cells, but its effect is poorly understood. For example, histamine participates in the proliferation of certain types of cells; like embryonic development, wound healing and experimental tumor growth. There are also reports that histamine in proliferative or animal tumor tissue increased.
