冯博一在中国当代艺术策展圈中,多年来一直活跃,且保持着独立、实验和批判性的工作态度,并以认真、规范、坚守的行事风格受到艺术家相展览委托机构的尊重。作为中国当代艺术生态系统的一个重要环节,冯博一经历了中国当代艺术“野生”于民间的艰难生存、官方体制渐趋接纳,以及当下资本运作和体制频繁互动、艺术市场喧嚣起伏的不同阶段。90年代末期,由于美术馆等官方艺术空间拒绝被使用,中国地下实验性展览无法正常展出。当时,冯博一就以长于利用不明确空间做展览而出名,比如:城乡结合部、书店、房地产开发商没有使用的空间等。在非展览空间进行展览,从另一个角度上激发了艺术家的想象力。
Feng Boyi has been active in the Chinese contemporary art curatorial circles for many years and has maintained an independent, experimental and critical working attitude. It has been respected by artists and agencies commissioned by the agency for its conscientiousness, standardization and perseverance. As an important part of the Chinese contemporary art ecosystem, Feng Boyi has experienced the difficult survival of the non-governmental society of Chinese contemporary art “Wild”, the gradual acceptance of the official system, and the different stages of frequent ups and downs in the current and ongoing capital operation and system. . In the late 1990s, due to the refusal of official art spaces such as art galleries to be used, underground experimental exhibitions in China could not be displayed properly. At the time, Feng Boyi was known for using exhibitions that made use of ambiguous space, such as the unused space for urban-rural integration, bookstores and real estate developers. Exhibiting in non-exhibition spaces stimulated the artist’s imagination from another perspective.
