Objective: To investigate the effects of different intensity exercise training on free radical metabolism in skeletal muscle of rats. Methods: Wistar rats were subjected to treadmill training at different intensities for 8 weeks. The effects of exercise training on free radical metabolism in skeletal muscle of rats under different functional states were observed. Results: The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) in the skeletal muscle of rats in the control group were significantly lower than those in the training group and the malondialdehyde (MDA) in resting state and exhaustive exercise Significantly higher than the training group. CONCLUSION: Three different intensities of exercise training can increase the activity of SOD and CAT in skeletal muscle of rats in a quiet state, decrease the content of MDA in skeletal muscle of rats, decrease the activity of SOD and CAT caused by exhaustive exercise, Moreover, the effect of intensive training is stronger than that of less intensive training.
