作为一个记者,我对社会新闻很敏感;作为作家,我对人的命运更加关注。非常遗憾的是,新闻的要求是赶在第一时间到达现场并进行报道,我的职业习惯就是抢时间将新闻写出来。而我从事文学创作已经超过20年了,在对事件本身的深入了解过程中,不由自主地要对人物命运进行剖析,分析他的性格形成,分析他的环境和成长史,分析所有与他有关的外部因素。两者的结合,使我力图在新闻事件中发现小说的题材和小说的“眼”,就像海明威、多斯·帕索期及卡波蒂一样。这样的机会终于来了。
