2008年5月12日14时28分,我国四川省汶川等地发生里氏8.0级特大地震灾害。十万平方公里山河破碎,家园凋敝,数万家庭亲人殒命,几千万民众流离失所。地震灾害发生后,举国同悼,华夏同悲!首都各界人士同全国人民一样,时刻关注灾情,牵挂灾区同胞。北京市政协领导和机关干部职工纷纷伸出援手,解囊相助。在欧洲访问的阳安江主席特地打电话回京,嘱托工作人员代他捐款;驻会副主席沈宝昌、陈平、赵文芝、熊大新,秘书长阎仲秋和机关干部职工离退休老同志以及服务员、临时工积极捐款;机关全体共产党员响应中组部号召,捐出“特别党费”数十万元;在京视察的港澳委员捐款200万元人民币;更有许多委员打电话询问捐助事宜;为灾后重建提出意见建议……在这前所未见的大灾中,我们见证了人间大爱:这爱,在救援现场,也在我们身旁。这爱凝聚成万众一心、协力赈灾、坚强不屈的伟大民族精神,凝聚成战胜一切困难的力量。
