Lepr Rev (1997, 68 (4): 371), Dr. Jopling, a world-renowned British expert on leprosy, died on August 21, 1997, at the age of 86. He studied medicine in London and was awarded the FRCP title at London and Edinburgh College. When he saw the traumatic disability of a leprosy while practicing medicine in Africa, he resolved to be a leprosy and spent his holidays visiting and studying at the leprosy hospital. He later returned to consultant leprosy expert at London’s Tropical Hospital and worked in the Department of Dermatology at St. John’s Dermatology Hospital. He was also a member of the editorial board of Lepr Rev Magazine for many years until his retirement. He is a keen observer committed to understanding his patients, making accurate judgments, and doing all the necessary things for them, loved by their patients. Because of his observation
