In May 1945, after the end of World War II, the Austrian cinema industry naturally wanted to go back to the war - especially on the world-renowned way of the 1930s, not to mention the fact that movie star veterans remained alive and well- . However, they have achieved only few new achievements. Of course, if successful, it is convincing and internationally recognized. The recently revamped film “The Opera Ball” (directed by Emst Marischka in 1956 with celebrities at the time participating in the filming) is a welcome example. This rich and powerful color film was extremely successful after it was released. It has been lost for decades. Only recently has it been possible to find a copy of a tape that is of acceptable quality and replay it with modern technology.
