After 5 years of construction, Harbin to Dalian High Speed Rail will start trial operation on a full-scale route of 921 km from October 8 and is expected to be officially opened by the end of this year. After its official opening, the Harbin-Dalian High Speed Rail will be the first long-distance high-speed railway in the world to go through the alpine region. The entire train journey will take only about 4 hours. Harbin-Dalian High Speed Rail is an important part of Beijing-Harbin High Speed Rail Rapid Railway. It runs from Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang Province to the north, Dalian, a coastal city in Liaoning Province to the south, and runs through the three northeastern provinces.
