由郑州大学历史系退休教授许永璋先生撰写,我的两位博士研究生王严、武涛整理补充的《非洲五十四国简史》即将出版,这对中国读者来说,或许是一件有意义的事情。这部书如同一幅简约的历史画卷,虽然线条简约,却清晰完整地勾勒出了生存于当世的非洲大陆这54个国家的历史概貌,让任何一个对非洲各国史有兴趣的普通读者一册在手,便可对这块大陆数十个国家的前世与今生、来龙与去脉,有一基本的了解。这是此书的一大特点,也是我们将本书整理出版的一个重要理由。
