贵州省地矿局测绘院1958年建院于贵阳,至今已走过了四十余年的风雨历程,其间1964年至1995年院址座落在区毕节地区黔西县。多年来,几代测绘人的足迹踏遍了贵州高原的崇山峻岭,80余个县(市、区)的土地留下了他们不知疲倦的难忘身影,为国民经济建设、国防建设、矿产资源的开发、城乡规划作出了不懈努力。该院在1998——2002年先后获得全国、省、地部门的表彰达15项之多,其中,1998年获得全国总工会“先进女职工集体”的称号,2002年获得中华全国总工会、国家安全生产监督管理局颁发的“安康杯竞赛活动优胜企业”称号,2000年荣获贵州省“厂务公开先进单位”称号,同年获地矿局“先进党委”称号,2001年荣获国土资源厅颁发的“测绘行业思想政治工作先进单位”称号等荣誉,这诸多方面的荣誉,凝聚了几代测绘人及领导班子的心血和汗水。1995年该院搬迁至贵阳,选址乌当区,在从计划经济体制向市场经济体制转轨的过程中,该院转变观念,适应市场,院领导一班人带领全院职工,不怕艰苦,不怕困难,重建新家园。目前,该院有在职职工211人,具有高中级技术职称的
