由元到明,广西政区处于不断调整适应的过程之中,尤其在明初洪武年间,国朝新建,变化尤为剧烈。从加强中央集权,服务于整体政治目标的角度出发,此时中央对广西政区调整的重点是对这一地区如何更好地进行政治控驭和军事镇遏,保证中央对这一边陲要地进行行之有效的管理。
