霍桑的短篇小说《胎记》描述了18世纪末期美国社会极端崇尚科学和理性,而忽略人文和道德所带来的严重后果。本文从文学伦理学批评的角度,对该小说所蕴含的科技与伦理、爱情伦理与美的政治进行解读,认为该小说具有极强的现代性,在世界面临更为复杂的科技发展与人文道德危机的今天,同样具有深刻的启示意义。
Hawthorne’s short story, “The Birthmark,” describes the extreme consequences of humanistic and moral neglect of the scientific and rational extreme advocacy of American society in the late 18th century. From the perspective of literary ethics criticism, this essay interprets the science and technology, ethics, love ethics and beauty politics contained in this novel and argues that the novel is extremely modern in the face of more complicated crisis of science and technology development and human morality Today, the same profound implications.
