An effective method for the synthesis of tetracyclic hydrocarbons 2,3: 6,7-dibenzocyclo [3.2.2] non-2,6-dienes is described. This tetracyclic hydrocarbon may become an important raw material for the synthesis of a new generation of antidepressant drugs.
