Bauxite reserves in India’s Orissa and Madhya Pradesh are estimated at 2 billion tonnes. To exploit these bauxites, the Indian government has set up a nalco (Nat Aluminum CO) company. It is planned to build an open pit (at Pan-chpatmali mine) with a capacity of 2.4 million tons / year in Orissa, a Da-manjodi alumina plant with an annual capacity of 800,000 tons / year of Al 2 O 3 and a production capacity of 218,000 tons / Year aluminum plant.Panchpatmali mine bauxite reserves of 337 million tons, the average content of Al 2 O 3 45.2%, SiO 2 content of only 2%. Angul plant is scheduled to start production in early 1986.
