In recent years, Thailand’s national family planning program has been widely praised for its significant reduction in fertility. However, the economic benefits of reducing fertility rates still need to be explored. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the economic benefits of the government’s total investment in family planning programs. It includes only the government costs (such as health services and education fees) related to population growth, and the benefits and costs of individuals or society that are not directly related to government expenditure are outside the scope of this paper. To do this, it is first necessary to calculate the benefits of the program in reducing fertility, the impact on demographics, and the control of births.
