Lucent Technologies announced November 20 that two new integrated circuits in its FPSCs (field-programmable system chips) family will provide a flexible interface for 10G Ethernet optical networks. Lucent’s FPSCs integrate programmable gate arrays with standard logic cells on a single chip to provide high performance and design flexibility. This new chipset provides data network designers with customizable, protocol-agnostic interfaces for high-speed optical transport equipment for 10G Ethernet LAN / WAN / MAN.
