According to Newton’s mechanics, a rigid body rotating at a high speed has the property of keeping its rotating axis pointing invariant in inertial space and is called as a fixed axis. When the rigid body is subjected to an external force perpendicular to the direction of the axis of rotation, the rigid body is rotated around a third axis perpendicular to the axis of rotation and the external moment vector, which is called precession. Conventional gyroscopes have a high-speed rotating mechanical rotor.
