华东师范大学是全国重点院校之一。“教育要面向现代化、面向世界、面向未来”的指示,正促使华东师大向新的高度攀登。作为基础学科的数学系,也处在一场变革之中。师范大学应当改变老的模式,创造切合实际,适应四化事业发展的新模式。数学系正根据社会的多种需要培养人才。本科学制为四年,培养目标为从事数学教育的师资以及一部分进行应用数学和基础数学研究工作的人才。师资包括中等学校教师和大专院校教师两类。数学系在设置课程时,除了各类学校数学系基本一致的十五门基础课(即解析几何、数学分析、高等代数、普通物理、常微分方程、复变函数、实函与泛函、抽象代数、计算方法、算法语言、概率统计、拓扑学、微分几何、数理方程、中学数学教材教法等)之外,还依据因材施教原则,按基础数学、应用数学和中学数学教育三个系列开设选修课,主要课程有:抽象代数续论、复函续论、泛函分析续论、常微分方程续论、偏微分方程续论、黎曼几何、微分方程数值解、矩阵计算、现代控制理论、图论、数学规划、初等数学研究、数学史、现代数学与中学数学、国内外中学数学教育等共三十多门。从 East China Normal University is one of the key universities in China.
