鞍钢扩建工程新区应建2400mm热带钢连轧机,采用国外成熟设备和新技术,组成一条节能效果好,产品质量精度高,品种范围广,产量大,轧制线短的双机串列紧密布置的可逆粗轧3/4连续式超级化热带铜轧机。板坯单重为36kg/mm,轧制速度20m/s,高速恒速轧制,产品平均厚度3.88mm,平均宽度1300mm,轧机年综合轧制能力为775万t;轧制速度22m/s,高速恒速轧制,产品厚度为3mm,年轧制能力为850万t。热带钢连轧机前面与炼钢厂(板坯连铸机)连接,以达到较好的节能目的。热轧带钢厂后面建两个冷轧带铜厂,可处理热轧带钢400～560万t/a。冷带钢轧机后面有深加工设备镀层涂层机组。热带钢厂除剪切精整车间外,还设有深加工工厂。
