语文教学的基本功能在于:借助语文学科丰富的内容(包括字、词、句、篇,)对学生进行口头语言和书面语言的听、说、读、写、思(思维)全面训练,着力培养日常交际能力、思维能力;借助语文学科综合性特点,对学生的政治观点、道德品质、世界观、情感、意志以及个人心理诸方面施加影响,进行综合的人格培养;通过口头语言和书面语言的综合分析运用,提高学生的审美能力和素质.口头语言的培养靠听说;书面语言的培养靠读写;口头语言的综合分析运用则靠“思”.因此,听、说、读、写、思的全面培养,就是语文教学的根本任务.
