血色素是血红蛋白的俗称,它的主要功能是在体内运输氧和二氧化碳,并对酸性物质起缓冲作用,维持机体正常的酸碱平衡。血色素低下不仅会影响运动能力,更重要的是,低血色素还会引起食欲减退、厌食、异食癖、体重下降、智力发育差、身体抵抗力下降,严重影响他们的身体健康。因此,对于青少年运动员,必须定期监测血色素的变化,尽量做到防范于未然,一旦发现血色素偏低,应尽早采取治疗措施,以保证青少年学生的健康成长。我们知道,人体的运动过程离不开氧。氧被吸入人体后,通过血液送到肌肉细胞,源源不断地为细胞内的氧化产能过程提供原料。血色素就是血液中运输氧的工具,它就像运货的“车”一样,“车”的数量越多,运到肌肉的氧就越多,肌肉生成的能量越多,人体的运动能力就越高。血色素偏低则会影响运动训练的效果。运动员特别是耐力项目运动员,在长时间大强度训练期常常出现血色素低下,从而造成训练质量和运动能力低下。因此运动性血色素低下是令许多青少年运动员十分头疼的问题。
