Objective To investigate the changes and significance of endogenous hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in children with different types of febrile seizures. Methods A total of 76 children with acute upper respiratory tract infection and febrile seizures were divided into two groups according to the type of seizure, 31 complicated with febrile seizures as complicated group, 45 as simple febrile seizures as simple group, and acute upper respiratory tract infection as febrile 50 cases without convulsion as control group. In the complicated group and the simple group, blood samples were collected within 30 minutes after the onset of convulsions and 2 ml after the thermal withdrawal, respectively. The control group was given 2 ml of blood after 30 minutes of fever and 2 ml of blood from the retreat, and the protein was detected by deproteinization spectrophotometry H2S. Results Compared with the control group, the levels of H2S in the control group, the simple model group and the complex model group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the simple model group and the complex model group (P <0.01) (46.45 ± 11.32), (31.38 ± 12.11) and (24.16 ± 10.79) μmol / L within 30 min, respectively (all P <0.01), and there was significant difference between them ), Respectively. The values of thermal regression were (48.39 ± 11.52), (47.95 ± 11.23) and (47.24 ± 12.97) μmol / L, respectively. Conclusions The level of endogenous H2S is correlated with the onset of seizures and the type of seizures. H2S may be involved in the occurrence and development of febrile seizures.
