On December 2, 2002, the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions jointly issued the “Notice on Protecting the Legal Rights and Interests of Employees and Strengthening the Legal Aid Work of Employees.” The Circular states that safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of workers and staff members is an important part of China’s socialist legal system and safeguarding human rights and is also an important part of legal aid work.
